Many Ways to Celebrate Moms

Mother’s Day is a sure sign that spring is here and summer can’t be far behind. The Lehigh Valley offers many options to please mom and keep the kids out of the doghouse. Just remember, unless otherwise noted, reservations are definitely a must and tickets will sell out quickly. So if you’re reading this, it’s May and you best get a move on planning out mom’s special day.


May 12: Mother’s Day Tea: “Fabulous Flappers”

Presented by Ellie Laubner, give mom a relaxing Saturday afternoon as this presentation steps back in time to explore the fashions of the “Roaring Twenties.” Free to members, non-members: adults $10, children $4.  Pre-registration and prepayment required. 1 p.m.

May 12 & 13: 53rd Annual Downtown Bethlehem Fine Art and Craft Show

Give mom a day of outdoor fun in the (hopefully!) sun in downtown Bethlehem for the well loved sidewalk arts and crafts fair that brings out some of the best local artists in the Valley. The perfect place to pick up a last minute gift, or make one in the Children’s Activity area.

May 12 & 13: Mother’s Day Tea

Give mom the English tradition of tea time in the Secret Valley. Experience Edwardian splendor of the century-old coach. Deluxe Coach Passengers may opt to purchase a beverage while enjoying the near two hour excursion. Full tea service will be in the Dining Car and feature tapas plate offerings. Parlor Car Passengers receive tea sandwiches and desserts in lieu of our regular tapas plate offering. Trains depart on both Saturday & Sunday at 11 a.m. & 2:30 p.m.

May 13: Mother’s Day Brunch @ Musikfest

Menu includes fruit salad, cereals, assorted pastries and bagels,French toast with house made fresh whipped cream, maple syrup and fruit toppings, apple smoked bacon and pork sausage,
cured salmon, lox with capers, scrambled eggs with assorted toppings, vegetable frittata plus a variety of lunch entrees like blackened chicken pappardelle with sautéed spinach and sun dried tomato cream sauce. Cash bar. First Seating at 10 a.m., Second 12:45.  $34.95 Adults, $13.95 children 6-12 years. Ages 5 and under are free.

May 13: Country Club Brunch

Treat mom to a scrumptious brunch in the picturesque setting of the country club, the perfect setting for fancy spring dresses and suits. 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

May 13: Mother’s Day Brunch

Join Bell Gate Farm to celebrate the most important woman in your life: mom, with a full  buffet brunch menu including a Complimentary Mimosa for all guests over 21, waffle station, carving station and plenty of desserts. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Jewish Community Center of the Lehigh Valley host a brunch buffet. Moms who attend will receive a complimentary rose and a ticket to the 2 or 8 p.m. showing of Once Upon a Mattress.  11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. $8.

May 13: Melting Pot Mother’s Day

Make mom cook this Mother’s Day and get away with it — at least if it’s fondue at the Melting Pot. They have all the bases covered with plenty of cheese, chocolate and champagne. $45 adults, $20 children 12 and under. 4 – 9 p.m.
